One of the oldest guitars out there happens to be vintage Aria guitars. Not only are they an old manufacturer or guitars, but they are still making guitars yet today. In fact, they have been providing top quality guitars for better than 50 years now, and their guitars are innovative and classy. The history of these guitars actually goes back to Japan after the war, which happened to be a dark time for this country.
It was Shiro Aria who was the founder of the company that made vintage Aria guitars. He first start importing guitars into Japan after the war was over. Although he barely had anything, he was still able to start up a business, bringing in classical guitars to this country. While there was a not a lot of demand for these guitars at the particular time and very little money for people in the country to purchase these guitars, Aria had big dreams and love guitars.
Not only did he import in guitars, but he had sheet music imported as well. It was difficult to find classical sheet music after the war had occurred in Japan, so the demand for this sheet music was on the rise. The demand would continue to grow, and by 1956, he started a company of his own, making these vintage Aria guitars.
At the point in time where he started out his company, guitars made by the Japanese were known to be very flimsy. Usually the wood that was used was not high quality and the climate change would cause problems with them. People in the western world were not big on guitars from Japan, but Aria was determined to break into this market, selling high quality guitars to the American market. Today there are vintage Aria guitars found all over the United States, so it is apparent that he accomplished his goals.
The big rock and roll revolution was actually a big change that really was helpful to Aria and his guitars. Electronics became a niche market in Japan. However, most guitarists didn’t know what to do with an electric guitar, but then Elvis and the Beatles came along, and there were many young kids in Japan who wanted to start getting involved in rock and roll. At this time Aria began to produce electric guitars, and this was just in time for the big boom in electric guitars.
Vintage Aria guitars were popular all through the 60s within Japan. The company would provide innovation, they offered many products, and offered changes in response to the changes that were taking place in the taste of the market. On through the 70s the company began to improve their guitars even more, making higher end models for professionals. As Aria continued to go with the flow, he was able to build up his company even more. Although he started out with nothing, he became the top Japanese guitar maker and now is a big part of the guitar market across the world. Now vintage Aria guitars are quite popular, which has definitely fulfilled the dreams that Aria had many years ago.
