LOOK! – Found On EBAY – VERY RARE ANTIQUE c.1893 WASHBURN GUITAR_WORLD’S FAIR

VERY RARE ANTIQUE c.1893 37″ WASHBURN ACOUSTIC GUITAR.  CHICAGO_WORLD’S FAIR of 1893, this model was a gold medalist. I can not make out the model number on the label.  The case appears to be of the finest quality rosewood with a cedar top. The decoration in abalone, mother of pearl, copper, ivory and wonderful and exquisite, fine marquetry inlay. Shows an old surface with scratches as seen in the photos, but this over 100 years old folks.   I don’t know of any major repairs as I can’t tell, so it you …

                       Here we have a late 1800’s to early 1900’s Washburn parlor guitar.    I could not find any info on this rare model guitar.   It has a nice V neck with rosewood back and side’s and I believe its a spruce or maple top.    The guitar needs a neck set as the action is high.   The original bridge is in good shape althought it looks like someone tried to reglue it …

LOOK! – Found On EBAY – Washburn Parlor Guitar 1800’s Lyon and Healy

 Here is a
wonderful very playable antique with sweet feel and sound.
Washburn New Model style 223 and  dated 1897  as
per pg 69 and 234 of Hubert Pleijsier “ Washburn Prewar Instrument Styles”
One major professional alteration is 2 vertical braces bordering sound
hole.
Please look at photos carefully and request any specific
additional photos or information, as I do not accept returns.
I can e-mail you a sound video clip but it was taken using a
fishman blend in hole pickup which, while amplifying , doesn’t do the tone
justice.
